11 March 2001 Hmmm... seems to me like mystical eastern symbols on your tee and shades were the order of the day.
11 March 2001 What appears to be the oldest and most intricate facade of the Sagrada Familia. Geeze, this thing was real tall and thing and bizarre looking!
11 March 2001 Round the 'back' of the Sagrada Familia where building works continue. I think I heard somewhere that they plan to finish this in another 20 years or something!
11 March 2001 There's a rather long walk up some rather steep steps from the subway to what the guidebooks were referring to as the Gaudi Park. I don't think that's it's 'official' name though.
Here we see the stragglers taking a break on one of the welcome escalators towards the top.
11 March 2001 Phew... after stomping up what seems like a hundred flights of stairs and then some we come to one of the peaks overlooking Barcelona. Here's the view from the highpoint of the (unofficial name) Gaudi Park.
11 March 2001 Brightly coloured Mosaics abound all over this park overlooking Barcelona (in the background there). He was see a big(ish) open space in the 'Gaudi Park' and the seats that surround it. Shame this area wasn't grassy, but come on, what do you expect in this climate - it would never survive the heat, let alone the tourists tramping all over it.
11 March 2001 I'd swear these people are following me!!
Nice shot of the blue sky and green foliage in the Gaudi Park, Barcelona.
11 March 2001 More stairs - this time thankfully ones we walked down. More bright mosaics. Nice, nice, nice.
11 March 2001 Another shot of the stairs here at the 'Gaudi Park' and a rather unusual house in the background with it's checkerboard type mosaic roof.
