Friday 28 June 2024

Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne cathedral & cloisters. Very interesting & cool (literally!) break from the hot summer sun.

Friday 28 June 2024

Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne town square, cathedral, tourist office & Mairie (town hall). V. pretty with all the flowers.

Monday 21 March 2022

Well good evening Lisbon! Little stroll around before finding some food. Nice to be back after 20 years or so!

Monday 24 June 2019

Sad, but why do vast donations flood to this place when there's precious little for even greater natural wonders? cry

Saturday 7 November 2015

Inside Porto cathedral. Nice light patterns from the stained glass.

Friday 30 October 2015

Sightseeing in Santiago de Compostela. Not much here aside from the cathedral with a rather ornate interior though.

Tuesday 2 June 2015

Trier Dom. Sort of 2 part cathedral & wow! Complete contrast to the utilitarian basilica (where I didn't take pics).

Saturday 11 April 2015

Passing through Speyer so stopped for quick walk. There's a huge Cathedral here but it's quite plain inside.

Monday 21 January 2013

Passing through Lincoln so stopped by the cathedral. Unlike most over in France there's no free entry here though sad

Sunday 13 January 2013

Nante Cathedral: looks a bit shiny & new. Due to a fire in 1972 it seems, which meant huge restoration was in order.

Tuesday 30 October 2012

Wondering back to catch the bus home (20 mins from here)... Florence Cathedral by night.

Tuesday 30 October 2012

Random walk in Florence today. Some skewed views of cathedral as we pass, trying (& failing) to avoid crowds. Busy!

Wednesday 29 August 2012

Passing by St Blasien. Cathedral here has loads of shiny marble under it's huge dome. Little village is pretty too.

Friday 3 August 2012

Augsburg Dom in the morning. Quite nice, but also a little plain. Well, aside from those windows.

Tuesday 24 July 2012

Notre Dame, about the only thing we queued (maybe 15 mins?) to get into. Pretty impressive though. Nice windows.

Saturday 14 April 2012

Uzès Cathedral, outside & in. This tower (medieval & the only original part they say) is unique in France apparently.

Tuesday 20 March 2012

Inside Nîmes Cathedral: a random local shared a tip to look at the back where the more colourful spaces were. Lucky!
