You know it's classy accommodation when you have to wear one of these, right...? Ermmmm... right?
We've been gifted with some spectacular light these last two days by Chiemsee. Always a treat when it's like this.

Waking up to a beautiful day by Chiemsee... going to be a good one!
Sunset by Chiemsee. Spectacular! Feel like we could be on a Pacific island - if not for Alps on the horizon
More random pics from a lakeside campsite. Gotta love out of season travel - this place would be packed in summer!
Another beautiful, yet pretty much deserted camping location by Putterersee in Austria
Morning tootle on the bike. Austrian valleys, lakes, churches & castles under brilliant blue skies. Beautiful stuff.
Durrensee: Passed this nice little lake on the way down the valley. Love stumbling across this kind of thing
Candlelight dinner by the twinkling lights of Putterersee - which sadly are barely visible here but we enjoyed

Stunning scenery & brutal gradients. Passes Falzarego, Valparola, Falzarego - again - & Giau. Utter perfection.
Clouds cleared as we were looking for a lunch spot so: beer & pizza in sunshine! Yes, quite big. Yes, ate the lot!
Cortina d'Ampezzo, what a beautiful place. Would love to ski from here one day, although it does feel very A-list!
Transfer day Views between La Villa & Cortina d'Ampezzo. Limited scope though due to overcast conditions
Rest day stroll around La Villa - just a few paths & tracks on the edge of the village. Beautiful.
Afternoon ride: Passo Valparola... as you can never ride too many epic passes in a day (before it starts to rain)!
This morning's ride: Sella Ronda (clockwise). 4 passes, 3 of them higher than the Tourmalet. Simply Spectacular!
Afternoon snack: hot chocolate, coffee & apple strudel. Not a bad view either from this coffee shop in La Villa.
Grey day in the Dolomites so little stroll in the village (La Villa) & stumbled across this pretty little church.
Passing a pretty grey Passo Gardena. Spectacular area, can't wait to see it in sunshine - hopefully!
OMG! Forgotten how much the Italians eat with this 1st/2nd dish thing. Absolutely stuffed! More cycling required!
Pre-dinner drinks by Lake Maggiore. I guess there are worse places to sip beer & watch the sunset...
Today's ride: smash fest up Passo del Cuvignone then cruise on shores of lake Maggiore through Laveno. Lovely stuff.
The joys of off-season travel: arrived to a beautiful, but pretty much deserted campsite by Lake Maggiore. Perfect!
Views from the road: N94 West of Montgenevre to be precise. Said goodbye to the sunshine & drove into rain & cloud
Random stop for lunch overlooking Lac de Serre-Poncon. It's not about the destination...
Quick break in Gorges de la Meouge. Think we've been through here before & never stopped but it's a nice spot.
Waking up between vines in Provence... feels pretty good to be back on the road!
Lunch at one of our fave spots. Farewell to our visitors, it's been... erm... entertaining! See you again soon?
Post ride rehydration/refueling in the village. Nom, nom, nom!
When visitors ask to ride the Tourmalet. Erm, OK, if we must! Social time, so beers at the top. Cheers!

Local sightseeing with tourist friends... beautiful day for it.
Sunset after a brief storm this evening. Hope this means more sunshine tomorrow!

When friends with silly sunnies come to visit... Enjoying glass of wine & couple of pintxos at the local market.
Today's ride: followed a chunk of La Vuelta course. Mostly closed & empty roads in stunning countryside. Awesome!

Today's ride: thinking of something shorter but too nice a day so ended up here. Ooops Nice end to a big week
Summer lunch at L'Etape du Berger... one of our local ski station restaurants for those not familiar. Lovely day
Today's ride: big col stats (100km/1,800m+ vertical) sans big col. Cruising endless miles of empty roads like this.
Fete Pastoral: beautiful setting slightly tainted by bad organisation. Thanks to jolly friends made it through!
Today's ride: social(ish) spin up 40km climb to Col de Tentes. With a couple of refreshment stops Great day out
Awesome sight this morning: full moon setting just as the sun rises opposite side of the sky. Beautiful.
Apperos: bread, cheese, beer, rillettes & brie. Sat in sunshine looking out to a cloudy horizon. Simple things...
Col d'Aubisque... like I said not long ago: always better on a bike. Perfect day for it too.
Sunset from our neighbour's... erm... lawn Yes, you notice he finally got round to cutting it
