Lot, Tarn & around - June 2020

With 2020 being bit of a trying year decided to take things easy and have just a quick trip in June. Few nights away not far from home but even though, there was plenty to see and explore. Very warm period but we survived intact!

13:00

1st meal out since you-know-what (over 3 months!). Love random roadside stops... esp when they turn out great! grin

14:07

Hmmmmmmm... Toasty!

07:21

Beautiful sunrise ride to avoid forecast heat. Rolling hills & shady forests actually made for perfect conditions smile

10:24

Second ride of the day: short cool down with Pratiwi, who also tried #HaySurfing for the first time wink Not bad! grin

13:18

You've seen sheep, cattle, etc. in a field squash into the shade of a single tree/hedge, yes? Snails are the same wink

15:11

Climb on foot up to Cordes-sur-Ciel was worth it even in today's scorching heat! Beautiful medieval village in Tarn.

18:45

Oh look... a beach... and we're nowhere near the coast! grin Lovely spot by river Lot, Causses du Quercy National Park.

12:10

Saint-Cirq-Lapopie perched above river Lot. Very impressed by this beautifully preserved (& clean!) medieval village.

12:29

Lunch in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. Beautiful place & v.toasty today so we chose a super shady spot... & the large beer! wink

11:44

Above the River Lot: a veritable motorway compared to some cliff-edge roads we travelled in Norway so no worries! smile

12:06

Chemin de Halage: aka. a towpath cut into cliffs along the river Lot. Good idea as it makes for a nice shady walk.

20:33

Look for 'fancy' restaurant in Cahors but v. busy Saturday, so end up in a backstreet bar. Prolly more fun anyhow! wink

09:46

Today's ride: Back on cliffs above Saint-Cirq-Lapopie because... why not? Few drops of rain a welcome refreshment!

12:53

Stumbled across Indonesian restaurant in Cahors. Someone's very happy! & yes, 2 peeps/3 dishes (+dessert) does go! wink
