Lac de Gaube & Pont d'Espagne... always a great hike. Beautiful (mostly) sunny autumn morning.
Lac d'Estaing stroll. Making friends with locals Bit calmer than visit the other week & lake is like a mirror!
Crystal clear Lac d'Estom & the equally pristine Gave de Lutour. Many shallows & waterfalls on this hike. Stunning!
Part two of our hike today. The impossibly beautiful Lago d'Arpy. Lost for words!

Feeding ducks just up the road from dad's house.
Walkies with dad. School XC runs used to go round/through these waters in sleet & freezing rain. Fun memories!?!

Camping by Lake Annecy. Bit grey on arrival but remnants of today's storm look cool blowing over peaks on other side.
Short stroll this morning by the shores of Lake Geneva. A dip might have been tempting last night, but not right now!

Lunch stop by Lake Brienz - on our way to Innertkirchen. Thankfully having more luck with Swiss weather this year
Yesa Reservoir: Sea of the Pyrenees. Sadly seems there's been no 'sea' here for years. Quite surreal landscape today.
Just back from hols mostly riding in mountains & by lakes. What to do? Cycle Lac d'Estaing for more of the same!
Nice spin in Parc naturel regional des Volcans d'Auvergne. Quite a mouthful! But great park could spend more time in.
Sunset at Lac de Vaivre. Parked up in a quiet spot by this lake. Very nice & thankful it's still not peak season
Time to leave Lake Lucerne... really love this place. Last of the views on the road above Weggis. Tschuss!
Evening stroll in Vitznau, Lake Lucerne. Interesting train station here: Rigibahn was 1st mountain railway in Europe.
Random shots from today's instalment of 'Driving Through Switzerland in the Rain'. Bit of a theme forming here!
Onwards & upwards as they say! Last part of today's hike via Windegghutte. Few chains on this climb. Awesome route!
The Trift Bridge. Because why wouldn't you build a rope crossing between cliffs above a glacial lake? A. Maze. Ing!!!
Random shots from today's little drive along Lake Maggiore. Feriolo then coffee stop in Intra. Another glorious day.
Today's ride: Lakes Orta & Maggiore. Ridiculously beautiful! Many cyclists out & even traffic is well behaved
... and so we find ourselves on the shores of Lake Orta. Quite pretty with some hills around. Weather seems OK. Phew!
Today's parking spot: on the shore of Lac du Lit au Roi. Lucked out here - it's beautiful!
Messing around on the shores of Lac de Matemale
Today's ride: Lac de Saint Ferreol. Beautiful area I think is bit like a mini Black Forest - sadly minus beer/cake
On the shores of Untersee. We were last guests of the season in this campsite & they gifted us the stay! Danke!
Little forest walk to the shore of Brombachsee.
Sunset by Chiemsee. Spectacular! Feel like we could be on a Pacific island - if not for Alps on the horizon
More random pics from a lakeside campsite. Gotta love out of season travel - this place would be packed in summer!
Random stop for lunch overlooking Lac de Serre-Poncon. It's not about the destination...
Stunning Lac d'Artouste. 2000m up, but with the sunshine today & that crystal clear water, feels almost tropical.
When your teenage guest is missing the beach... we find ourselves at Lac de Lourdes. I'll admit water was lovely in.
Things to do this arvo, so little spin up the Aspin & to Lac de Payolle was all there was time for today. Oh well!
Today's ride: bit grey but always something interesting to see. This is on the dam wall at Stausee Kleine Kinzig.
Ride from the Med coast up brutal climb (20%+ ramps), past vineyards, a castle & lakes. You know, the usual stuff

Short hike up to Roche des vieux chevaux (great views down to the site we're staying at) & Lac de Lispach.
Stuck the phone out of skylight above our bed not long after waking up & hit camera shutter. Looks like a nice day!
Rainbow over Lac de Longemer. And the view a few minutes later. Wow! Loving this place!
Lac de Longemer: what a spot! Roads here are awesome, but there's baguette & cheese to be eaten before any riding!
Morning stroll by the lake shore next to Castle Howard. Saying hello to some of the locals along the way... quack!
Just back from breakie looked out the window to see amazing light on the lake. Wow! It's so beautiful here. So lucky!
Nyepi day in Bali. Silent at dawn. We cannot leave hotel today so booked one with large grounds. So beautiful here.
Lunch spot: Refugi de Juclar. Nippy at around 2300m up. Lake next door would be prettier if it hadn't been drained
9km later... back down by Lac du Tech. Such a nice way to spend a few hours.
