On the shores of Untersee. We were last guests of the season in this campsite & they gifted us the stay! Danke!
Little forest walk to the shore of Brombachsee.
We've been gifted with some spectacular light these last two days by Chiemsee. Always a treat when it's like this.
Sunset by Chiemsee. Spectacular! Feel like we could be on a Pacific island - if not for Alps on the horizon
More random pics from a lakeside campsite. Gotta love out of season travel - this place would be packed in summer!
Random stop for lunch overlooking Lac de Serre-Poncon. It's not about the destination...
Stunning Lac d'Artouste. 2000m up, but with the sunshine today & that crystal clear water, feels almost tropical.
When your teenage guest is missing the beach... we find ourselves at Lac de Lourdes. I'll admit water was lovely in.
Things to do this arvo, so little spin up the Aspin & to Lac de Payolle was all there was time for today. Oh well!
Today's ride: bit grey but always something interesting to see. This is on the dam wall at Stausee Kleine Kinzig.
Ride from the Med coast up brutal climb (20%+ ramps), past vineyards, a castle & lakes. You know, the usual stuff
Our drive today is tourist route 13. This is Granvinsvatnet, a small lake. Norway is so perfect when the sun shines!
Short hike up to Roche des vieux chevaux (great views down to the site we're staying at) & Lac de Lispach.
Stuck the phone out of skylight above our bed not long after waking up & hit camera shutter. Looks like a nice day!
Rainbow over Lac de Longemer. And the view a few minutes later. Wow! Loving this place!
Lac de Longemer: what a spot! Roads here are awesome, but there's baguette & cheese to be eaten before any riding!
Morning stroll by the lake shore next to Castle Howard. Saying hello to some of the locals along the way... quack!
Just back from breakie looked out the window to see amazing light on the lake. Wow! It's so beautiful here. So lucky!
Nyepi day in Bali. Silent at dawn. We cannot leave hotel today so booked one with large grounds. So beautiful here.
Lunch spot: Refugi de Juclar. Nippy at around 2300m up. Lake next door would be prettier if it hadn't been drained
9km later... back down by Lac du Tech. Such a nice way to spend a few hours.
This morning's ride was round a misty Lake Como. Menaggio to Bellagio. Shots on the ferry back home. Nice way to end.
Sitting on the balcony at dusk, looking across at the lights on the other side of Lake Como. Nice way to 'unwind'
Arrived in Menaggio & love the view. A few shots straight off the balcony. 12/85/300mm (DX) if you're wondering
In Italy, but had a look up a valley into Switzerland as we passed. Lakeside train station here: nice waiting room!
Late-ish afternoon ferry back across Lake Constance. Great day! Some nice craft bobbing about here too.
Pfahlbaumuseum Unteruhldingen. Completely unpronounceable! Is an open air museum of stilt houses we passed today.
By the shore of Lake Constance. It's huge, with beautiful clear water as you can see. Waiting for the Mainau ferry.
Lake Constance at sunset. Hanging out with the swans... although Pratiwi finds them big & scary any closer than this!
A misty start to the morning looking down over Lake Brienz & Interlaken.
Another beautiful picnic spot for lunch, this time by Lake Thun.
Lac de Mauvoisin. A dam if the tunnels & wall don't give it away How much better would it be without those though?
Back down by the lake. Time for some to enjoy coffee & cake!
Ahhh... so this is what it looks like when the sun shines! By Lake Hallstatt - spectacular!
Rather overcast views across Lake Hallstatt. Pretty impressive all the same. Should look good on a blue sky day!
Königssee. Beautiful (allegedly the cleanest lake in Germany) but sadly only time for a very short walk here.
Weitsee near Reit im Winkl. Pretty little lake & nudist spot. Not that we knew that before! I'll spare the details
Passing Achensee couldn't resist having a little break and a stroll. Sadly a bit cloudy but nice all the same.
Despite how it looks this is a rather empty Sylvensteinsee Dam, looking back towards where we just came from.
Unusual semi-submerged statues by Amersee. And geese bullying Pratiwi. She'll stick to feeding ducks from now on!
Lake Annecy. Very beautiful, but such a traffic snarl up & busy in town! Would like to stay a bit longer next time.
Our hotel here is right by a small lake. Very pretty spot and very nice for an early morning stroll before breakfast.
Afternoon at Lac Chambon, then back again for dinner & walk after. Funny having raclette in summer, & with no heater.
Lac de Gaube. Clear blue water with that backdrop. Absolutely stunning. Had to stop for a bite to eat and enjoy
