Howdy neighbours... wanna join us on our little walk?... Mooooooo!!!
Obligatory December ski shots. Beautiful sunny day & great conditions. Super quiet with no lift queues. Awesome!
Awoke to a pretty grey & dreary day soooo... went to Pau for a curry. As you do! Nom!
Great night out with friends in local town. Real pints, outrageous steak & profiteroles on offer. Nom, nom, nom!
Swanky place we had apperos at fully booked for dinner, so ate at nearby tapas bar. Works for us & more economic too!
Appero time! Well, Spanish style: sangria by the beach. Cheers!
Lunch @ Pou de la Vila, Tossa de Mar. Glad we resisted temptation to eat on seafront - still beautiful & superb food.
Passing few mins on Tossa de Mar beach as restaurant we'd like to try not open yet. Spanish lunch hours: terrible!
What more beach? Off season in practically empty Calonge on a lovely sunny evening. Nice when it's not crazy busy!
Few tapas plates in Hondarribia old town. Octopus, basque sausage, croquettes. Plus beer & sangria of course. Cheers!
Dinner at Restaurant Bonnet, Itxassou. Amazing food in a lovely traditional dining room. Highly recommended!
Dinner at Haize Hegoa, Itxassou. Nice bar with great view - shame it's dark outside. Great burger & steak though!
Legend Bridge (& others) in Sauveterre-de-Bearn. Originally built in 12th century but destroyed by floods in 18th.
Still great food, but atmosphere in a fave tapas bar much subdued due to health regs. Hope it's back to normal soon!
Cafe Orient, La Seu d'Urgell. 3 course lunch with slabs of meat & bottle of wine for 13E each. Welcome to Spain!
Messing around on the shores of Lac de Matemale
Villefranche-de-Conflent: v.impressive on approach, but hard to photograph inside. So, erm, sorry few tourist pics
Fabulous Thai @ Sabai Sabai in Argeles Plage. No entree, but ordered 3 mains & devoured the lot! Highly recommended.
The Med! We're not really beach people, but now & then have to remind ourselves mountains were the correct choice!
So, there's a galette/crepe van visiting the camping we're at this evening. Would be rude not to Nom, nom, nom!
Lunch at Hotel Bellevue, Cambo-les-Bains. Fantastic food, especially the main & ridiculous value - 3 courses for 16E!
Tourist shots from Cambo-les-Bains... pretty little place if you're passing by.
Lunch above clearing clouds @ Refuge Orisson. Great steak & Gateau Basque - of course - nom! Fantastic experience!
I rode here the day before & so beautiful drove Pratiwi up to see. Roads above the clouds always feel very special
Tapas, beer & sangria... watching the world go by in St-Jean-Pied-de-Port. Went down a treat after earlier exertions!
Happy anniversary to us! 10 months since we last ate out so great return to one of the local faves we've missed
Beautiful La Peyre & Croix de Beliou. Sunny but 0C with 60kph wind & snowfields. To think I almost wore shorts!
Snowshoeing practically from our doorstep. We often walk up here, but snow takes things up a notch. So beautiful!
Great day on the snow with the ladies. Raquettes with a picnic stop. Absolutely beautiful parcours at the Couraduque!
Another crappy day in confinement But jokes aside, know we are super lucky to have this stuff in our 1km radius
Nov 2. Shorts & tee weather for daily walk around our home village. Been like this for a few days now - lovely!
Meat & cheese fest (OK - with a few cursory greens & veggies) at our very generous neighbour's. Nom, nom, nom!
Today's ride: rolling along a supply branch of the Canal du Midi. And up to a random castle... because... why not?
Pizza in Revel. Nom, nom, nom!
Look who finally joined me up the Aspin, yay! Crazy weather for end of August but only slightly damp so no probs
Today's ride: Erm... where's the mountains & what's this blue stuff? Cruising between beaches on the Medoc coast.
When friends let you on their boat. Thx! Also loving my new combover! Oh wait - that's a shadow isn't it? Doh!
Hike up to Refuge de Larribet. Lots of beautiful crystal clear water. Survived herds of wild animals intact! Phew!
Jolly to Saint Mont for a little degustation du vin today. Lovely area. Thanks to the chauffeur team for driving
Stumbled across Indonesian restaurant in Cahors. Someone's very happy! & yes, 2 peeps/3 dishes (+dessert) does go!
Look for 'fancy' restaurant in Cahors but v. busy Saturday, so end up in a backstreet bar. Prolly more fun anyhow!
Chemin de Halage: aka. a towpath cut into cliffs along the river Lot. Good idea as it makes for a nice shady walk.
Lunch in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. Beautiful place & v.toasty today so we chose a super shady spot... & the large beer!
Saint-Cirq-Lapopie perched above river Lot. Very impressed by this beautifully preserved (& clean!) medieval village.
Oh look... a beach... and we're nowhere near the coast! Lovely spot by river Lot, Causses du Quercy National Park.
Second ride of the day: short cool down with Pratiwi, who also tried #HaySurfing for the first time Not bad!
1st meal out since you-know-what (over 3 months!). Love random roadside stops... esp when they turn out great!
Hike Col de Moulata to Hourquette d'Ouscouaou & snowline - ahem - Spectacular views. Picnic. Sunny perfection!
Bit of snow this morning... all gone by lunchtime But what a beautiful walk it made for before then!
Not been a great season but good to be back on piste. Quiet up there, but found some randoms to share lunch with
